THE EP:

A Darker Ground is a 4 track dark-atmosphered EP, made as something very special for this spooky season.

Its release is a surprise a few days before the Halloween day, following the single "Androids in despair" and bringing new and darker resources compared to all of my releases so far (some of them never used on those songs, like Lo-fi noises, spooky pads, heavy guitars and goth styled pianoes).

The EP concept is mainly based on the influence of AI and technology in our lives, and how it can change daily dreams/nightmares... here, now and in a dystopian world.

TRACK BY TRACK:

1.

The 1st track "AI-designed dark dream" takes you to a dreammy and dark atmosphere.

With Lo-fi resources, lighter drums, dark pads, and some soft-spooky pianoes its concept refers to techonology used to "plant" dreams inside people's heads, but showing that it can also plant nightmares if something gets out of control or is the hands of more bad intentioned people.

2.

"A ghost in the moonlight" is the 2nd track and has a dark atmosphere with spooky synthesizers, Lo-fi style beats and some parts with distorted kinda metal guitars.

A song in a cyberpunk style like "AI-designed dark dream" that also results in something that sound chill-out and heavy at the same time, but with some heavier parts. The concept of this song is: nightmares in a deep sleep night, with references to sleep paralysis that can bring the dreamer some strange visions at night. Ghosts seen through the window in the moonlight are one of those visions.

The track and premiered on Coolmowee radio show at RDT (Radio Dark Tunnel) 2 days before the EP release and was a surprise to the listeners because of the heavy guitars and for being the first dark song played after Androids in despair.

"Androids in despair" was the 1st EP single, released on October 24.

Different from the first 2 tracks, this one sounds more like chaos happening in the real world, not so dreammy as those most of time. It's like the first time awake after the dark dreams generated by AI action and visions of ghosts at asleep moments.

With a heavy atmosphere, distorted synths, storm sounds, fire, lo-fi and spooky noises, the music here will take you to the scene of a dystopian city burning at night.

And in this scene of chaos, the lights and communication systems are partly damaged by an AI chain that just went out of control. That's the reason why Androids who work to defend the city gates are in despair.

4.

Partly inspired by the TV series Arcane, "JINX" is the track to represent when the place where human race lives turns into (and finally is seen an accepted as) "A Darker Ground". This happens after being strongly affected by the privacy and individual life violations caused by the bad use of AI and robots to control and try to protect the cities.

This darker ground the world became refers to a place where part of society wouldn't like to go in normal conditions, similar to what happens in the undercity where the Arcane character Jinx (originally from League of Legends) lives.

The song comes with stronger beats, constant kinda metal inspired synthesizers and lower sounds. Its different transitions have filtered rising sounds, heavier basses, magical pads and some stranger instruments. Some drums' fills can sound like explosions too, like in frequent scenes of Jinx in Arcane.
